Picture and information of the Tufted Titmouse (Parus bicolor).

Titmouse, traditional name for members of a family of songbirds. The only birds still called titmice are the crested North American species, such as the tufted titmouse (Parus bicolor). The noncrested American species are called Chickadees; all are small birds with black or brown caps and bibs. Titmice are gregarious most of the year.

It is a small songbird that is gray with a crest, a blackish forehead, brown flanks and large bright black eyes.

It's feeding habits is the same as that of a Carolina Chickadee in that it will fly to a feeder and take a sunflower seed with it to the nearest branch to eat it.
