While many people consider the deciduous mulberry tree an undesirable weed tree (berries can stain). But one mature tree produces more fruit then the birds and other wildlife, including squirrels, in the Brooklyn Park, Maryland area can eat. Mulberry trees will grow in all most any soil in USDA zone 4 to 9 depending on the species. Can attract almost 60 spices of birds including American Robin, Gray Catbird, Cardinals etc. |

Mulberry fruits are purple-black when ripe. In zone USDA 7a berries ripen from late spring through early summer. |
